The Gtand Kids loved our handpicked frozen blue berries and cherries for their Cereals, for popping in their mouth while still frozen and as a part of smoothies and desserts!
I have zero recipes for sour cherries, but I once invented a cherry pie that contained fresh cherries, oatmeal and chocolate chips. It tasted almost like a cherry cordial. I did not right my recipe down...
I once made butter cream frosting for chocolate cupcakes using sour cherries (lots of powdered sugar in the mix) to make them pink without food coloring. And it was a really yummy combo! A little almond or vanilla extract good in the blend.
Amihan Huesmann might well have sour cherry ideas... is she running around in the Substack somewhere?

Such a treat!
Love what you do with words, Vikki !
Thanks Pat ❤️
Boozy sour cherries can be dangerous! They're so delicious that you forget how alcoholic they are....
I am just going to use mine for the occasional manhattan. That should keep me out of trouble!
You have given me serious future life goals.

That sounds delicious!
If you have any raspberries overlapping with cherry season, I love this recipe my mom saved years ago from Good Housekeeping: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ts624ryZ451AuabPhKLVw3mNbDtbJsnu/view?usp=drivesdk
Plan B: see if my friend at Urban Forage Winery is offering any trade in deals? 😁
No raspberries this year but we have cleared a spot for future raspberries so I’ll save this!

Yum! I might have to make a cake!
I love this SO MUCH. And I wish I lived nearby so I could come and "borrow" some cherries! Here's an excellent recipe: https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/cherry_clafouti/
Saving that!
I just had my first sour cherry harvest! I'm definitely a few years behind you all, but I'm acquiring a taste for these sour gems.
You're not behind - this is only our second. They really produce!
