I'm so far behind on reading so hello!

I love this post so much. I felt very peaceful reading it and I'm so happy for you and Luisa and the life you have built with your friends at the Quad!

“All we can do is offer what we have to each other.” I love this sentence. My light in the darkness is the generosity of friends. I had a knee replacement several weeks ago and the recovery is long and slow. I need help driving and my friends show up with a smile or a meal.

I agree about the generosity of friends. I’m glad you feel supported!

I started a Little Free Library this fall. I have found so much joy in curating a beautiful and joyful library. I make sure I put in diverse and lovely books. I love how my husband encourages the kids walking home from the bus stop to stop for a treat and a book. I love watching parents with their strollers stop. Later this week I’m planning on turning some of the books into presents to gift in there.

One of the ways in which I've been finding light in the darkness is by reminding myself of my personal values and finding ways every day to bring them to life. I will admit to not spending much time on personal values prior to a couple of years ago. In fact, I wasn't really clear on what they even were before then. But, once I spent some time thinking through them and identifying my top values, it quickly became a very grounding and reassuring exercise for me to figure out small ways to bring them to life every day. That's one of the ways in which I try to create light. No matter what is happening around me, I can always choose how to bring my values to life. I have to remind myself of this often but it's a tactic I have found to be very powerful.

If ever there there was a time to clarify and live our values in even the smallest ways, it’s now ❤️

Sharing light - today's warm up after an early cold snap inspired me to take walks, open the windows for a bit to let in fresh air, and generally lean a little more optimistic. And cats. There's always cats!

Cats for sure! That’s why Ollie and Cy made it into the pictures on this post.
